This giveaway has ended. Congrats to Sarah L.

Back in April of 2010 I was given the chance to review Silk Almond Milk and absolutely fell in love with it. Since then it has been our primary milk. I use it for cooking, drinking and of course, cereal!

The transition was easy. Silk Almond Milk is creamer then regular milk (at least if you are comparing it to 1% which is what we drank) and the taste is a bit sweeter (yum). It taste great on cereal and I even drink the leftover milk which I never did with regular milk.

I was thrilled to be contacted by Silk a few weeks ago and jumped on the chance to review their products again. Included in my review package were three free product coupons. I decided to go the variety route and picked up Almond mik, chocolate soy milk, and the new coconut milk.

I had tried the chocolate before (which we also love) and obviously the almond milk but had yet to try the coconut milk. I really enjoyed the coconut milk, well more like I enjoyed one sip of coconut milk. My son had literally drank the entire container in a day (he tends to forget other people live in the house with him :P ). Needless to say, it was a hit.

With quinoa being a super food and all I’ve really been trying to embrace it in my diet. The only problem is I really don’t like it.. not necessarily the taste, more the texture. It totally creeps out my mouth :P

So the other day I was at Henry’s doing a little shopping and happened to see a box of Andean Dream quinoa pasta on a bottom shelf (nowhere near other pastas) and it was on sale for .99! I grabbed a box, went right home and cooked it.

It seemed to take a little longer then regular pasta to cook (or maybe I was just hungry) but cooked up fine. It’s definitely thicker then regular spaghetti, more like a noodle you would find in an Asian dish.

The taste though was great. I added a little Earth Balance “butter”, pepper and ate it up. Yum!

I checked Amazon prices but it was way to high for me ($50 for 12 boxes) so I headed back to Henry’s to grab it while it was on sale.

I noticed it was $4.99 regularly (eek) so I bought ten boxes :) (hey that’s ten for the price of two!). That should last us until it goes on sale again.

Anyway.. if you see this on sale.. grab a box, I think you’ll like it.

A few months ago Challenge offered a $2 coupon (no longer available) for their new Tuscan Style butter. My store had it for $1.99 so I picked up a couple for free and it’s been sitting in my fridge ever since.

Well, last week I was making a pasta dish and decided to use it instead of my normal butter like product. Oh my goodness! It was so good I ended up just eating the pasta plain with the Tuscan butter, salt, and pepper. Delicious!

If they sell this in your area, you should give it a try! Coupons.com currently has a coupon available for .55 off any Challenge dairy product. Click “Foods” to find it faster.

This is NOT a sponsored post, I just think the butter is yum and wanted to share.

GelPro is the world’s leader in premium gel-filled mats for the kitchen and home. Using patented shock-absorbing gel core, GelPro mats provide the most comfortable surface to stand on while reducing pain and increasing blood flow.

I was recently given the opportunity to try out a mat to see what I thought. There are several styles and colors to choose from but after much thought, I decided on basic black in the ostrich pattern.

MY THOUGHTS
The first thing I noticed about the GelPro mat when it arrived is how heavy it was. I love the weight of it because it doesn’t slide all over the floor, this mat stays where you put it and I put mine in the kitchen.

The first thing I did once I positioned it in front of the sink was jump on! It actually feels really cool on your feet and toes, I step on it every chance I get. I also make everyone that comes in the house stand on my mat and tell me how awesome it is. :)

I stand a lot at my job and although we have mats that are supposed to keep your feet and back from hurting, after a few hours they don’t do much. Many times during the day, I’m wishing I had this gel magic under my feet!

Click here to check out more reviews on Amazon.

BUY IT
The only downside to the GelPro mats is they’re a little pricey. Depending on the style and size, mats range from $42 to over $500 (I know.. eek!) BUT, if you have problems with your back or feet and stand a lot in one position, it definitely may be worth considering.

I’ve only had mine for about a month but from what I can tell the quality is excellent. I don’t see it wearing out or breaking down anytime soon.

To get the best deal keep an eye on the main page for discount alerts and be sure to browse the clearance section.

I was given a GelPro mat to review and keep. No other compensation was received. All opinions are my own

iSkin earTones are the world’s first earbuds with Mircoban protection to inhibit the growth of fungus and FlexFit for added comfort.

The earTones also have a built-in remote with integrated microphone that allows the user to quickly answer calls or change tracks (with compatible devices).

MY THOUGHTS
I’ve never been a earbud/headphone snob and would pretty much use anything so I didn’t think much of these when they arrived besides “oooh! pretty color” (blue/white). After trying them, I realized I maybe should be more selective of my earbuds!

I recently bought an HTC HD7 phone and have been super disappointed with the speaker (it’s really awful). So my first test was to try these with the phone. I was thrilled with how crisp and loud the sound was with the earTones. I then tried them with my computer, again.. a very crisp and clear sound. I was impressed.

I also liked how comfortable these were. I have freakishly small ears and earbuds always hurt me, so far these haven’t. The FlexFit feature really does seem to work.

None of my devices were compatible with the built in remote so I was unable to review that feature. earTones earbuds are available in a number of color combination’s and can be purchased for $39.99 at the iSkin website.

THE GIVEAWAY
The awesome folks at iSkin have offered to give one lucky winner their own pair of earTones earbuds!

In an effort to save a pineapple no one wanted to cut I ordered this Vacu Vin Pineapple Slicer at Amazon last week. The reviews were pretty great so I was excited to get it. Plus, I really wanted that pineapple!

Two days later (gotta love Amazon Prime) my new pineapple slicer had arrived…. with no instructions. Now I realize it’s not rocket science but I would have liked something to reassure me I was doing it right.

I started by taking off the leaves, placing the slicer at the top and pushing down while turning. This actually took a little muscle and at first I wasn’t sure anything was happening. After the initial breaking through it got easier and in the end, I had pineapple!

After looking at these pictures I think maybe I was supposed to cut off the top of the pineapple first which would have made it easier. This totally makes sense and is exactly why I need instructions :)

The version I bought comes with one size blade and is currently priced at $8.22. I was really happy with it and it worked great for the pineapple I had.

Some of the reviews suggested you should get this version which comes with three blades for different sized pineapples. It’s currently priced at $11.76 which isn’t a huge difference and may be worth it if you buy a lot of pineapple.

I love discovering new gadgets that make my life easier! Oh and the pineapple was awesome! :)

My mom bought me one of these Guard Your ID Stamps for Christmas and I really love it so I wanted to share in case you hadn’t seen them.

It looks just like an ink address stamper but the when you stamp it you get a bunch of letters that actually conceal what your stamping. Here is a video review someone did on Amazon in case I’m not making sense (very good possibility :) ).

I still shred anything that’s super private (with my awesome shredder) but what I love this product for is everyday mail. I can quickly stamp out my name and address then throw it away. It’s really pretty cool. Thanks mom!

Right now Amazon has them priced between $7.07 and $7.58 depending on the color. They also qualify for FREE Super Saver Shipping. Amazon prices can go up or down at any time so this deal may change with time.

Buy, Sell, & Trade Gift Cards at PlasticJungle.com

I was recently sent a $50 American Eagle gift card to review the process of selling gift cards at Plastic Jungle. Here are my thoughts..

On March 2nd I visited PlasticJungle.com with my $50 American Eagle gift card in hand. You can sell your unwanted gift cards or buy discounted gift cards at up to 35% off and get FREE shipping. I was looking to sell so I clicked “Sell Now”.

To see the cash value of your gift card, you simply find the retailer (over 400 currently accepted) and type in the amount of your card (minimum of $25).

For my $50 American Eagle gift card I was offered $38 for a PayPal payment, $38 for a check or $39.90 to trade for an Amazon gift card. I chose PayPal.

The next screen confirms you would like to sell and lets you print off a postage paid mailing label. I just cut off the excess, taped the mailing label to an envelope and placed my gift card inside which I dropped in the mailbox the following day (March 3rd).

On March 8th, just five days after mailing my gift card I had $38 in my PayPal account. Choosing Amazon gift codes would be even faster but a check may take a few days longer.

I was extremely pleased with the ease of selling gift cards and the turn around times to get paid. I wouldn’t hesitate to sell again at Plastic Jungle.

Buying gift cards looks just as easy and so many to choose from including Target and Starbucks! They even discounted eCards which would be great if you needed something quick.

I was given a gift card in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own

Review : Crystal Deodorant

September 3, 2010

in Reviews

I was recently given the opportunity to try Crystal deodorant, a line of all natural mineral salt deodorant.

I had tried the stick before and was looking forward to trying the new Essence Roll-On line.

Crystal deodorants are clinically tested and hypoallergenic, are cruelty free and environmentally safe and contain NO aluminum chlorohydrate, NO aluminum zirconium, NO parabens NO phthalates, and NO dyes.

If you are used to using commercial deodorants the Crystal will take some getting used to, mentally anyway. It rolls on just like any other deodorant but it feels like nothing is on. I love that but it was weird at first.

The first couple times I used it, I spent my days smelling myself to make sure it was working! What I smelled was nothing which again was awesome, but weird when you are used to the regular deodorants.

I’m not a huge fan of the stick version just because it or you needs to be wet to use it (however one stick can last a whole year!) but I love the roll-on because it’s just like any other deodorant minus the chemicals.

cvs

GET IT (ON SALE!)
Through the month of September, CVS stores and CVS.com will have Crystal deodorant products on special markdown (no coupon needed)! You will be able to purchase the stick for around $6.00 and the roll on for around $4.00.

I know most of us get our deodorant for free with coupons and deals but if you’ve been looking to get away from all the chemicals in regular deodorants, Crystal products are definitly something you should look in to.

I was given an assortment of Crystal deodorants from Crystal and One2One Network in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.
