    RENT!

    Thursday, August 21st, 2008

I am a huge RENT fan. I’ve seen the show once in New York and three times when it came to San Diego.

True RENT fans would certainly tell me four times is pretty lame but unfortunately those are the only opportunities I’ve had to experience it.

I was totally bummed when I found out the show was ending. I was hoping I would be in New York at least one more time before it was over.

The touring production is coming to San Diego again in March 2009 so I’ll definitely be there.

So anyway, I was ultra excited to find out today that they are filming the last performance and releasing in it in select theaters at the end of September.

    Another Mamma Mia Giveaway

    Monday, August 18th, 2008

This Giveaway has ended. Congrats to Elizabeth!

Is this even still playing in theaters? This is like the fifth ticket I’ve won to Mamma Mia. Maybe it’s a sign that I’m supposed to see the movie. Nah.

I’ll make this one quick because.. well, I’m about over the Mamma Mia tickets.

One winner will receive one ticket to see Mamma Mia. Ticket must be printed and is only valid through Hollywood Movie Money so make sure there is a theater near you.

No hoops, just leave a comment if you want to win.

Giveaway will end tomorrow, August 19th around 2pmish PST.

Oh, you can also try and win your own ticket (use code 81GR1G) just don’t win the Vegas trip or you’ll be forced to take me with you.

    The Big Red Frugal Box

    Friday, August 15th, 2008

Redbox is a big red box with movies inside. You’ve probably seen one in your local store or maybe you are already a RedBox user.

Basically, for $1.00 a day you can rent movies out of this big fancy box. If you play your cards right you can actually rent lots of movies for free out of this big fancy box.

A guaranteed free movie is offered when you sign up for alerts via email or text. Jeannie over at Musings from Left Field tells me when you sign up your cell phone for these alerts they will send you codes for free rentals every Monday and Wednesday this month. I don’t see that on the website but I’ll take her word for it.

Another blog to keep your eye on when looking for free Redbox codes is 1GR8Mommy. She seems to always have a code for a free movie popping up in my reader.

We don’t use Redbox, not because I don’t think free and $1 movies are fabulous it’s just that I can’t be trusted to return the movie the next day. It would probably end up costing me $10 to see a movie.

We use Blockbuster’s online service. We pay $3.99 a month which gives us a limit of only two movies per month but that’s plenty for us.

We have had Batman Begins sitting on the table for over a week and still haven’t watched it. This could be because I’d rather eat glass we just haven’t had time to watch this masterpiece. But for whatever reason it takes us so long to watch movies, no late fees is key for our movie rental success.

Either way, check out that big RedBox next time you see it and don’t forget your free codes!
