90% Off Backpacks at CVS

September 28, 2009

in Random

I stopped into CVS today and noticed most of their school supplies were at 90% off. Everything was pretty much picked over but I was able to score this backpack for only $2.49!

Although it looks orange in the picture it’s actually red, black and pretty cool. The house teenager even agrees. :)

If you are in the San Diego area, I found this at the CVS next to Souplantation on West Point Loma Blvd. They had five or six backpacks left, all were different styles.

My CVS And Ralphs Deals

August 10, 2009

in Coupons

I don’t shop the deals much anymore but decided to make a mini trip today and bring the coupons along. I’ll admit I got that coupon high after hearing my totals so maybe I’ll make an effort to get back into it.

At Ralphs I paid only $3.10 after coupons. Here’s what I got :

ralphsdeals

- Peaches (.49 a pound)
- 2 Healthy Choice frozen entrees ($2.50 each) I used two $2 coupons
- Honey Bunches Of Oats ($1.99) I used a $2 coupon
- 2 Yoplait Delights ($1.88 each) I used two $1.25 coupons
- Diet Coke ($1.50) I used a free coupon earned at My Coke Rewards

—————————–

Here is what I scored at CVS :

cvsdeals

- Herbal Essences shampoo ($2.99) Free after Extra Bucks
- Herbal Essences gel ($2.99) Free when you buy shampoo coupon
- Bic Soleil razor refills ($6.99) $3 Extra Bucks & used a $3 coupon
- Playtex tampons ($4.99) $4 Extra Bucks & used a $1 coupon
- Hershey’s candy ($1.49) Free after Extra Bucks
- Sara Lee bread ($2.00) Free after Extra Bucks
- Swiss milk ($2.29) $1 Extra Bucks

After my coupons my total was around $22. I paid for it with Extra Bucks from the school supply deals last week and a gift card. I received $14.50 in Extra Bucks for later so my grand total was $7.50 (includes tax).

Of course now that I look at my receipt, he didn’t take off the $3 for the gel so my grand total really should have been $4.50. Now I remember all the joys of coupons.. like something generally goes wrong :)

—————————————

In total I only spent $3.10 (in actual cash) so that makes me happy!

These deals are in San Diego but may carry over to other regions as well. Some of these deals are only good Sunday-Tuesday so will end tomorrow (8/11/09).

One more thing! Check out this new coupon database at Deal Seeking Mom. It’s quite helpful if you save your inserts from the Sunday papers.

CVS is offering a free gift when you use your Extra Care Card for the first time in August. The free coupon will print at the bottom of your receipt like Extra Bucks do.

I’ve heard people are getting all sorts of different things. My freebie was a large bar of dark chocolate. This might just be the best freebie of all time!

:) What did you get?

Be sure to check your ad to see what else you can get free after Extra Bucks at CVS! I’ve been able to score some free school supplies the last couple of weeks!

In the San Diego ad there is a good deal on milk this week. One gallon for $2.29 with $1 Extra Bucks bringing your total to only $1.29 a gallon. Limit one.
