Just a quick reminder that starting tomorrow (1/22) stamp prices are going up again.
Regular first class stamps will cost a penny more bringing the cost to .45 and postcard stamps will go up three cents making them .32 cents each.
I guess if you consider that you can send something across the country in a short amount of time for less then a dollar it’s still a pretty good deal. Still though, always a bummer when I have to stick one cent stamps all over my postcards
Do you have a 1st generation iPod Nano? Apple has determined the thing could burst into flames (or maybe something slightly less dramatic) and will replace select units. Click here to see if your unit qualifies.
It looks like you will need to send them your iPod and they will replace it in about six weeks. It would be pretty cool if they replaced it with a newer version, eh? I wouldn’t count on that though .
Update : According to Tiffany via the My Good Cents Facebook page she received her replacement and it was indeed a newer/better iPod!
Just wanted to say a quick Merry Merry Christmas! If you don’t celebrate Christmas then Happy Happy Sunday! Either way I hope you have an awesome day full of smiles, laughs, and of course, pie.

I just found this tip on fixing squeaky wood floors in the October Woman’s Day magazine and thought I’d pass it along. Let me know if you’ve tried this!
Find the offending board and sprinkle a small amount of baby powder. With a dust brush, sweep the powder into the surrounding cracks making sure to use enough so it goes deep down into the crevices. Repeat until the creaking stops!
Thanks again to Woman’s Day magazine for this tip.

I’ve been reading Trina’s blog for what seems like forever. From religious beliefs to fashion we are two completely different people. But… she keeps me connected, she’s real, and I appreciate that.
A paragraph in her post today touched me so much that I felt the need to pass it along….
The world keeps moving on. There are soccer practices and games to attend, open houses at school to show up at, fundraisers to finish. My mail man messed up a delivery and the clerk at the post office got an attitude with me. It’s as if no one knows what just happened. The world keeps moving. I want to yell at him, “Don’t you know my dad just died!”
This is a real from the heart reminder to all of us that every person has a story and today’s chapter may be a real crappy one. Give people a break, it may mean more to them then you will ever know.
If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion. ~Dalai Lama
I just found an article I had clipped from the August Woman’s Day magazine about increasing your vehicles fuel ecomony… thought I’d pass the tips along..
1. Learn to Coast : Take your foot off the gas sooner and glide to a halt at stops signs and lights.
2. Roll up your Windows : Driving over 40 mph with the windows down creates a drag, which burns more gas.
3. Slow Down : Every 10-mile increase in speed over 40 mph cuts your car’s fuel efficiency by 4 miles per gallon.
4. Do a cap Check : Gas evaporates quickly, and the gas cap slows this process. If yours jiggles when you touch it, get your cap replaced.
Thanks again to Woman’s Day magazine for these tips.
