If I had to sum My Good Cents up in one word, I would say SIMPLE. I don’t post complicated store scenarios or freebies you have to jump through hoops to get. Saving money should be easy, that’s what makes it so fun!
A LITTLE HISTORY
My Good Cents started a few years ago as a way for me to pass along freebies to my mother. After several months I realized my mother wasn’t reading my blog but complete strangers were! I loved that other people were just as thrilled as I was about a toothpaste sample.
I moved the blog to WordPress, bought a domain and here we are! The blog was definitely a progression as I tried to find where I fit in the frugal blog world but I’m thrilled at where it is now and the possibilities for the future.
ABOUT ME
I’m Kimberly, a 35 (ack! when did that happen) year old wife and mother who was blogging before anyone had ever even heard of a blog. I adore sunshine, photography and a good laugh.
I’m a little bit spoiled, a whole lot sarcastic and as my son likes to tell me “sooo weird”.
I am definitely a half glass full kind of girl and love positive people. I truly believe there is a bright side to everything.
Besides the blog, I also work part time at a local tourist shop. I’ve worked there for several years and really enjoy meeting people from all over the world.
I have delusions of one day being a full time photographer even though I haven’t really taken photos in ten years. My more realistic dream is to have my own frugal living/saving money column in a local newspaper.
I am married to an amazing husband who makes me laugh everyday. He loves sports, politics, and shhhhh…. soap operas. He’s not really a computer person but did recently learn how to cut and paste. So proud 
He is my biggest fan and pushes me to be the best person I can be. I am beyond blessed to have him in my life.
My little angel is now 14 years old (I’m not sure how that happened either). He’s smart and has a very quick wit. He is also very much a 14 year old boy who can never remember to put the toilet seat down or clean his room. I’m completely in love with this kid.
He loves to hang out with his friends, ride his skateboard and be on the computer. His passion is music. Between his guitar, ukulele, computer and the stereo.. there is always music coming from somewhere in our house.
Last but certainly not least are the babies. Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have been with us since they fit in the palm of a hand. Their mother abandoned them on our back porch and we reluctantly took them in and bottle fed them to health. A year and a half later…. they are spoiled, demanding and ungrateful. I love them to pieces!
