I was recently sent a box of Uncle Ben’s Whole Grain White Rice to test out and see what my family thought of it.
Uncle Ben’s Whole Grain White Rice gives you all the goodness of whole grains with the taste and texture of white rice you love.
My husband and son love rice, white rice that is. When I suggest brown rice, I generally get that face like they would rather eat glass so finding a rice that has some extra nutrients is always welcome.
Here’s what we thought :
I will start out with my one complaint, the box only contains about one cup of rice. Our family of three, particularly my husband who has a bottomless pit of a stomach (and never gains weight, hate him 
) can put down a cup of rice in no time. So for us, we would need to use two or three boxes if the rice was the main dish.
Cooking the rice. The box suggests cooking it on the stove for 10 minutes. I used our rice cooker and it worked great. It looked like regular white rice, maybe just a little darker but that could all be in my head.
I decided to make Southwest Salsa Rice Bites with this rice and regular white rice we had in the house to see if the family could tell the difference.
The verdict. No one could tell the difference. They both tasted the same (yummy) and everyone ate both selections without hesitation.
Final thoughts. In my opinion Uncle Ben’s Whole Grain White Rice would be a great substitution for plain white rice. I think any way you can get the family (and yourself) some extra nutrients it’s a win. It’s a bonus that it also tastes good.
