I recently scored a good deal on movie tickets via The Daily Save (San Diego daily deals site) and decided this would be an excellent opportunity for a little mother-son bonding.
After searching all the choices, my son decided on Kick Ass. I had seen the previews for this and thought it was a kids movie that looked kind of dumb but he was all about it so I checked out the reviews online. IMDB Info Page
Ok, so the movie is definitely not a kids movie but my son is a teenager and although I wish I could keep him in a bubble of rainbows and tulips, him seeing an Rated R movie is not real high up on my worry list, so off we went…
The movie Kick Ass is based on a comic book and tells the story of a high school student who one day decides to become a super-hero, even though he has no skills or powers. He quickly learns he is not the only super-hero out there.
All the characters were great but I thought Chloe Grace Moretz who played Hit-Girl absolutely stole the show. Nicolas Cage plays her father “Big Daddy” and was also pretty high up on my awesome list.
The movie is pretty violent and full of profanities but if those things don’t bother you, it really is an excellent movie. It’s funny, action packed, the acting is great, the characters are great, just an all around kick ass movie. I would totally see it again.
