Coupon Sherpa has a nice breakdown of 70 shopping brands you should follow on Twitter. Criteria for choosing the 70 included brands with good customer service and interactive tweeting.

I think being interactive is really important when companies (or even individuals) decide to start tweeting. Although Twitter is a great promotional tool I think when businesses are interactive with their customers it makes us feel more connected to the brand.
