TJ Maxx Red Carpet Event

Earlier this week I attended the TJ Maxx Red Carpet Event in Glendale, California to learn more about TJ Maxx and the upcoming fall fashions.

I was joined by a handful of other bloggers, the Rocket XL team, Alison Deyette and the very friendly TJ Maxx reps and staff.

As everyone arrived we had a few minutes to juice up on coffee and get to know each other. Most of the other bloggers were fashion bloggers so I went in feeling a little nervous. I can certainly find you a good deal on an outfit but looking fashionable… well, I just cross my fingers. :) But I quickly felt right at home and really enjoyed chatting with everyone.

After meeting everyone Alison gave a short presentation and tour of the store. The main thing I learned was that TJ Maxx carries this seasons fashions. I always thought their stuff was just leftovers from last season but it’s not. You could find the exact same outfit in TJ Maxx that you would find at Saks except way cheaper!

Another misconception is that the clothes are damaged or have imperfections but they really are the exact same clothes. It’s simply excess stock that buyers have purchased for a discount. In turn TJ Maxx is able to pass that savings along to you and because they don’t send non-selling items back, great stuff is constantly rotating onto the clearance racks.

TJ Maxx buyers shop 40 weeks out of the year to find the hottest fashions for the best prices. Because they are always finding new things, stores always have new merchandise.

We were also given a TJ Maxx gift card and set loose in the store. I found so many cute things, it was hard to decide. In the end I bought a jacket which was on clearance. The only thing I like better then an off-price clothing store is the clearance rack in an off price clothing store! I brought the rest of my gift card home. It will go to good use very very soon.
