You may already know the greatness that is SwagBucks but for those of you that don’t I wanted to write a quick guide to maximizing your Swagbuck experience.

What Is SwagBucks? SwagBucks is a search engine which will give you the exact same results as Google. The difference is each time you search with SwagBucks you have the chance to win a swag buck.
What Is A Swag Buck? A swag buck is basically virtual money that can be collected and exchanged for prizes at the Swag Store. The store is packed full of all kinds of things; gift cards, sports memorabilia, band merchandise, electronics and more.
Bonus Bucks : The swag guys often give out bonus codes for additional swag bucks. These are often for a limited time so you have to be quick. The best way to find out about these codes is to follow SwagBucks on Twitter, become a Facebook fan and follow their blog.
To apply these codes, go to “Your Account” and enter the code in the box.
Even More Bucks : The absolute best way to earn more swag bucks is by inviting your friends to join. When your friends join and earn a swag buck, you earn one too (up to 100). When you have a lot of swag buddies, your bucks pile up quickly!
To invite friends click on “Promote” and email or grab a referral link.

Swag Buck Tips : I’ve been a member of Swagbucks since before it was called Swagbucks and have seen them go through many changes (all for the better). Here are a couple tips I learned along the way.
1. Only Search At The Main Site. Once you start exploring SwagBucks you will notice that there are a million other swag buck sites including bands, sports teams, and news stations. Bucks earned at these other sites can not be used a the main swag store. Why does this matter?
Because prizes are cheaper at the main store. For instance an Amazon gift card costs 45 swag bucks at the main store. That same gift card at any other store costs 60 swag bucks.
To earn a specific band or team prize that tip will not apply to you.
2. Only Cash Out For Amazon Gift Cards : If your saving up for a specific prize, check the price at Amazon and do the math. It’s almost always going to be cheaper at Amazon, here is an example looking at the iPod shuffle :
- iPod shuffle at the swag store costs 820 swag bucks.
- $5 Amazon gift cards at the swag store cost 45 swag bucks.
- iPod shuffle at Amazon costs $47.
If you bought 18 Amazon gift cards it would cost you 810 swag bucks and you would end up with $90 in Amazon money. Buy the iPod for $47 and have money leftover!
Wow! But Is This Legitimate? Absolutely! Thanks to searching and my swag buddies this is what I’ve earned (and received) since May of 2008 :
- $825 in Amazon Gift Cards
- $45 in Starbucks Gift Cards
- $100 in Best Buy Gift Cards
- $60 in Target Gift Cards
- Bluetooth Headset
- Nintendo Wii Fit
- Nintendo DS w/ Brain Age
I’d say thats a pretty good rewards program!
Do you have any SwagBuck tips to share?

I downloaded the Swagbucks toolbar since that’s where most of my internet searching begins. Without going out of my way I can usually pick up one or two Swagbucks a day.
Kimberly, you’re right about getting people to sign up under your name. I picked up a few followers by sending a message to all of my Facebook friends. Just picking up two or three people will double your Swagbucks yield in a short amount of time.
I haven’t been very good about keeping up with their super secret special codes. I should start doing that. But who’s got time for another blog when there’s always MyGoodCents.net to look at!!
I wish I could download the toolbar but it won’t work for Mac… at least the last time I checked it didn’t..
True! No need for other blogs
this one will be plenty, haha…
The codes are gone so quick it’s hard to keep up with them.. I don’t go out of my way to get them but if it’s right in front of me, I’ll certainly grab it!
First off, great site! Love it! Secondly… do you know if Swagbucks works for Canadians or other countries? I have heard of it before and know it is legit, but have never gotten involved with it and now I’m dead curious after seeing everything you have earned from it. (Congrats btw). Thanks!

I just looked in their FAQ and it says Swagbucks is open to the United States, Canada, and the UK ..
You should definitely join up, it’s for sure the best search and win site on the internet…
Thanks for stopping by!
You most definitely rock the hizzy. $825!!!! in Amazon gift codes. GIRL! I thought I was doing good with $80 lol
Trina’s last blog post..Spring Break Bash and the Eligible Bachlelor
$80 is good! It’s kind of shocking when I add it all up… I’d also like to know what I did with it all, lol .. I can spend it just as fast as I get it!
Here’s a tip that I find helps me earn Swagbucks even faster:
Use the toolbar to enter any website address that you would normally type in yourself. For example, if you want to go to Target’s website, type Target.com into the Swagbucks toolbar instead of the address bar on your browser window. It’s an extra step to click over, but it’s a quick one, and it earns you extra Swagbucks because it counts as a search.

swagcodes updated daily !
Try searching for stuff that is kind of relevant to each other. Also, try going into the sites, let them load completely, and go back to the search page. This seems to work better for me.
an ipod shuffle in the swag store costs 8,666 swag buck! not 820!
